UNTITLED No. 5, 2026
Painted OSB, painted lumber, hardware, as found
This stack was found in a workshop in exactly this configuration, stowed with light intelligence and light care by someone unknown. The work quotes the items verbatim, in anticipation of the table that could presumably be assembled later, according to some logic, and with other pieces that are currently missing.
Nothing here was composed, yet everything is intentional: decided rationally, but without force, by someone solving a practical problem. The work seeks out the subtleties that occur in ordinary ideational acts, acts of labor. Leaning, provisional, it is unclear whether it has just been installed or is waiting to be put away: a piece of what already exists, and of what is about to be built.
