MICHAL is an architect, builder, and artist based in Chicago. Guided by a curiosity about space as a bridge between mind and body, he approaches each project as an opportunity to imbue environments with ideas that are clear, purposeful, and resonant with human rationality and experience. Across all scales, he treats spatial problem-solving as an act of inhabitation. Each project begins with deep respect for existing conditions and everyday patterns of use, and grows into a design that inspires the people who move through it.
The practice undertakes a wide range of projects, from cultural and public-facing environments to residential renovations, custom millwork, and sculptural installations. We prioritize clear communication, thoughtful problem-solving, and a collaborative design process that aligns intentions with client and community needs, budgets, and timelines.
Rooted in both architectural practice and contemporary sculpture, the studio brings a research-driven curiosity to every commission. Our work investigates the dynamic relationships among language, objects, and process while remaining grounded in the pragmatic demands of construction, building performance, and project delivery. This dual focus—conceptual rigor paired with technical precision—allows us to create spaces that are both imaginative and deeply functional.
