Aroqa

A former Chinese take-out has been transformed into a unique dining space in Chelsea. The main design challenge involved merging two divided areas in the existing building separated by a central staircase. The solution was a vaulted ceiling design that elegantly hides the staircase and extends throughout the restaurant, enhancing the space’s depth. The ceiling, initially planned in brass but executed in more cost-effective anodized aluminum, features a customized detail for easy installation. The rear area offers intimate dining near an open kitchen, while the front area includes a bar with geometric brass pendants. The design focuses on attracting passersby and enhancing the overall dining experience, with every detail meticulously crafted for a vibrant and cohesive atmosphere.
